I’m frequently making the trip to down to Sydney, usually to visit family, chill out and have an all round good time.
Luckily for me I am always staying in Paddington, its a short ride from the airport, about about 3kms from the city and central to parks beaches and lots of epic coffee.
I love Paddington! The nearby Oxford Street and Five Ways is lined with beautiful boutiques showcasing Australian designers and bespoke tailors (one of my favourites, Will Valor), not to mention the range of bars, cafes and restaurants. Most importantly its a $10 uber ride from any of the local beaches.
Keeping active is so important to me whilst away so throwing myself out of bed early and hitting the pavement for a walk in Centennial Park, hitting the gym and making the most of the sunshine is always on the agenda. Centennial Park is super beautiful and definitely worth a visit, there are also a number of eateries to wander through and stop for brekky or lunch in the park. The greenhouse is my fav for an infusion of Moroccan goodness. If you really want to push the active boundaries when you’re on holiday the coastal Bronte to Bondi walk will be right up your alley.
Walk the streets of Paddington. You seriously can’t go wrong strolling through the stunning streets lined with Victorian terrace houses, a favourite for me is down the infamous Queen street full of food options, mens fashion and epic photo spots.
Mix with the locals and stop by Wolf, Not Just Coffee or SvenSan for a coffee or a bite to eat.
With views to be adored, open-air rooftop bars are a plenty in Sydney. Some of my favourites to grab a beer are The Light Brigade, Coogee Pavilion and East Village Hotel.
The Paddington (or Paddo) Markets are a local favourite and feature clothing, accessories and of course plenty of food stands for your taste buds.
A visit to Rose Bay, Shark Bay, Bronte or Coogee is also something to stick on that to do list.
Feelin fancy and a little cashed up, book a Sydney Seaplane to take you over the water to dine at Jonah’s Restaurant, Whale Beach. Yes, this one is a little extra, but it’s definitely something special.
So here you have it, a real quick roundup of some of my favourites things to do whilst visiting Sydney and a few snaps to go with it.
